Iter Safety was founded in 2025 by our President, Josée Dumont. With years of experience working for firms ranging from a handful of employees to several thousands, she decided to take a leap and start her own.
Iter Safety was born from a desire to provide exceptional consulting and forensic services focused on transportation safety, with the flexibility and the personal, dedicated service a small firm can offer.
When searching for a name, this one stood out. I wanted a name that represents the company, what we do, and this new step in my professional career. Turning to latin for inspiration was a way to go back to my roots: as a francophone who grew up near Québec City, I did take a few years of latin in high school. When I found Iter, I knew it needed to make it into the company name. Safety just followed naturally.
Iter is a latin word meaning road, path, and journey all at once. Iter Safety represents what we do: safety for all modes of transportation, whether travelling on a road or any other kind of path, regardless of the destination.
Finally, it also represents the beginning of this new professional journey: a company reflecting my values, my experience, and my expertise.
